Background

Ustaz Abdulhakeem B. Isioye is a vibrant well–experienced educator in administering both Islamic and secular education. He is a graduate of Pure and Applied Chemistry from University of Lagos. He obtained a Master’s degree in Organic Synthesis from the department of Chemistry (University of Lagos). He had his Islamic education at Zamzam Islamic Academy (ZIA) and has attended conferences on Shari’a Intelligence (Maqaasid). He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Strategic Management (ISM).

Teaching Experience

Ustaz Isioye has over 13 years of experience in the education profession in both secondary and tertiary levels. He worked as a Chemistry and Mathematics teacher in an international school (Elimshire College).

He worked for the Chemistry department (University of Lagos) as a Teaching Assistant. He anchored several tutorial classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Additionally, he worked as an examination invigilator at the Distance Learning Institute (DLI), University of Lagos and also as a Research Officer at the Nigerian Stored Product Research Institute (NSPRI). His versatility to teach a wide range of courses was showcased when he worked in a leading Islamic school, Minbar–Minds College where he taught Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Arabic and Islamic Studies. His excellent counselling skills were also exhibited when he assumed the office of the Chairman, Guidance and Counselling department (Minbar–Minds College). He has attended seminars on IGSCE and IELTS examinations.

He taught Qur’an, Arabic grammar, Arabic morphology and other related courses at Zamzam Islamic Academy and Daarul Hikmah madrasah. He authored a book titled; Al–Qiraah, a self–help guide on Arabic reading skills for English readers, which was given as an endowment for use in Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies. He also worked as a tutor and an examination officer at LEMU Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies. He started working as an Assistant School Head at Lekki Qur’an Memorisation College in 2016 (when the school began operation) and later became the School Head in 2018. He has been able to graduate 2019, 2020 and 2021 sets of Qur’an memorisers in the school. Ustaz Isioye is also a well–grounded personnel in developing an Islamic Education Curriculum for young learners.

Other Skills, Religious Associations and Establishments

He is the Director of a standard Islamic center, Madrasatu ‘Ibaadillah for Arabic and Islamic Studies (both physical and online classes) and an Imam at Nurudeen Central Mosque, Meiran Lagos. He is the leader (Ameer) of an Islamic propagation forum; “The Guided Path Islamic Forum” and a Friday sermon resource person (Lekki Central Mosque). He was the Faculty of Science Secretary of MSSN (Unilag) from 2008 to 2009 and the Business Chairman, MCAN, Jigawa State from 2010 to 2011. He coordinated a successful online schooling program for Lekki Qur’an Memorisation College during the heat of COVID-19 in 2020/2021.

He is a motivational moral talk expert. He has delivered several talks on a variety of Islamic topics at various events. He anchored a renowned Islamic radio program (Islam calling) on “Radio Jigawa” in 2010.
