Jamiu Olasunkanmi Mustafa is a trained teacher and an educational leader, qualified to teach in Nigerian schools, registered with and licensed by the TRCN (Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria). He has over 20 years’ experience of teaching and leading in a school setting. Over 14 years of these have been in top international schools teaching the National Curriculum of England and Wales. He is not only a results-oriented education practitioner with wide experience in continuous improvement of educational success but he is also a committed one that is always eager to learn new trends in educational practices. He has at different phases of his career been a Quran teacher (Toyibat International School), a moral education instructor (Toyibat International School), a live-in hostel Ustadh (Toyibat International School), a Jum’ah service interpreter (Toyibat International School), a school Imam (Toyibat International School), an Arabic teacher (Avi-Cenna International School), a classroom Numeracy, Literacy, History, Geography and PSHE teacher (Avi-Cenna International School), a Head of Department (Avi-Cenna International School), a Key Stage Coordinator (Avi-Cenna International School and The RiverBank School), a Director of Studies (The RiverBank School), a volunteer Mathematics teacher (Ilminster Academy, United Kingdom) and a Head of Curriculum (Avi-Cenna International School).

His expertise, in leading child-centred teaching and learning through mentoring and training of teachers as well as lesson observation and analysis, is outstanding. He is, by the grace of God, highly experienced in monitoring teaching and learning standards, curriculum development and creativity as well as delivering quality assurance in all stages of an ideal school.

He did a diploma course in Arabic/Islamic Studies coupled with English, Education and General Studies with Sulayman College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, an affiliate college of the University of Ibadan. He is a graduate of Arabic Studies, Lagos State University, Nigeria. He has a PGCE (International) With Merit from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. He has the International TEFL and TESOL certificate in teaching English as a foreign language [Grade A] with certificate number ITTT00198097 and in teaching English to young learners with certificate number ITTTYL3260. He has a Master of Arts degree in Islamic Studies from the Islamic Online University, The Gambia, now known as the International Open University. He has a Master of Arts in Education, a higher degree he completed most recently with Distinction in one of the leading universities in the United Kingdom, the University of Nottingham, with expertise in educational leadership and management, leadership for learning, critical perspectives on curriculum and pedagogy, digital learning and practice-based inquiry. He is an Edmodo Certified Trainer and an Assessment Lead, certified by Evidence-Based Education, United Kingdom.

He has published, on Amazon, a book for the public titled ‘The Peaceful Commander’, written two course materials for the National Open University of Nigeria on Islamic studies as well as recorded and launched three albums so far about Prophet Muhammad to teach young Muslims about the Prophet of Islam. He is also the guest speaker on the weekly program; ‘Know your Islam’, on 92.3 Inspiration FM, every Friday from 13:00 to about 13:15.
